Ayios Dhometios
(also spelt Ayios Dometios) is located 4 kilometres west of the capital of Nicosia and is one of the largest populated municipalities in Cyprus. It has been a municipality since 1986 and it is a very modern area with recent property growth.
It is home to green parks, stadiums, churches and the Coca Cola factory. It is also the site of the border checkpoint for North Cyprus and South Cyprus access which is used many times daily.Historically, the town is named after Saint Dhometios who originated from Persia.
