Paphos Harbour Fort was originally built by the Byzantine to protect the harbour area, it was dismantled by the Venetians and rebuilt by the Lusignans back in the 13th century. Dismantled again in the 16th century as Venetians as they were unable to defend it against the Ottomans. The Ottomans then restored and strengthened the structure once they had taken capture of the island.
